Springtime Resort

Yeah I know, I'm not really at a resort, but this outfit sure makes me feel like I'm at one!  The weather is beautiful and I feel like it today too!

I spent last week doing some damage to the bank account, I mean shopping and was super excited to come across this new boutique.  I love all my online boutiques, but sometimes I just like to have a local one that I can run into, find a new item and walk out with it, instead of having to wait a week for it to arrive.  And I'm so glad I was able to find this one.  The boutique is called Bloom and it's located in Vandalia, OH.  It's small, but you never would have guessed when you walked in.  The clothes are so beautifully arranged along with their shoes and other accessories.  I loved their customer service and of course I loved their clothes.  I walked out with 2 beautiful new dresses, one of which I'm wearing in today's outfit of the day.

Normally I wear black, black and more black.  Maybe I'll throw in a few other random colors, but normally it's dark or black.  But lately I've really fallen in love with wearing white and I've developed a love of dresses.  I know right now I'm all ghostly white (thanks Mother Nature), but even wearing these white outfits they still look great.

Seabreeze

I love this color combination.  Nothing says spring more than a classic pair of white bottoms paired with a pastel colored top.  This top is so light-weight that it's perfect for this time of year.  I love how simple it is.  There are just those days when you need something simple, chic and comfortable and this was it for me!

Enjoy!

Dressy Meets Distressed

Yesterday was one of those days.  I wanted to wear warm weather clothes, but once again Mother Nature had other plans.  I'm already missing the south like crazy.  My body is used to shorts weather by now, not having to keep the jackets handy.  With that I wanted to be dressy, but at the same time I wanted to just be casual.  So I mixed the two with the dress top and the distressed skinnies.  Then add in the blinged out trucker cap and stilettos and it was a happy mix of dressy meets distressed.

As I stated in my post yesterday (here), I love to mix styles together.  I have a hard time mixing prints/patterns, but I do love to mix styles.  Something classy with something rocker.  Distressed with dressy, boho and edgy.  Whether it's just a piece of jewelry, a handbag, shoes or an article of clothing, I just love to mix and mingle!

What inspires your clothing combinations?

Classy Edge

Go figure, when I decide to break out some warmer weather clothes, Mother Nature decides to make it cold and windy.  I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get to wear all these cute new dresses and tops that I've been buying.  At the rate we're going it'll be warm by July just in time for it to start getting cold again.  Wonder if I could talk my husband into taking a vacation south for some warmer weather!

I recently bought this top from the Buckle over the weekend and I just couldn't wait to wear it.  I love the sequin and lace detail on it.  Normally I'm not into wearing a lot of whites, but for some reason this season I'm all about it!  Since the top is a little dressy, I decided to make it more casual by pairing them with my favorite distressed capris.  I just love giving a classy look a little bit of an edge.

What's your favorite mixed combination?

Floral Kimono

Promotion Ceremony (my husband is the one in the middle)

The last few days have been so much fun it's almost a blur.  On Wednesday my husband had a promotion ceremony, where he sewed on his newest stripe.  It was amazing and I am so proud of that man!  Since I spent the next couple of days camping with him, I decided to do some Spring shopping.  A few shopping bags later (and my bank account shedding some tears), I now have a few amazing new pieces that I can't wait to wear.

Yesterday, I surprised my husband by inviting his parents to come visit us for the weekend.  Anyone who knows me, knows that keeping a secret like that for 2 weeks is hard!  I had to bite my tongue so many times so I wouldn't spill the beans.  But the look on his face was priceless and well worth it.  And since he just sewed on Tech and his birthday is this week, I decided a nice small get together was in order.  Sadly Mother Nature didn't agree with me.  It was insanely windy and with the wind it made it cold.  But in the end there was plenty of food, lots of laughter and tons of fun!
