Keeping it Simple in Black

I am so guilty of this.  My parents used to hate it when I was in High School and all I wanted to wear was black.  And of course at the time I thought it was unacceptable to like black since I was far from being a goth.  But I can't help it, there is just something about that color that calls to me.  I remember the first time I painted my nails all black, people gave me the strangest looks.  Then one day I was like screw it, I'm not going to stop wearing something just because others might think it's weird.

So my obsession grew.  I'll admit that a good chunk of my clothes and shoes are black, but it's a classic color for a reason.  Everything matches it and the shade will never change!

I recently picked up this dress from Taylor Monroe.  I was out running errands and one of my plans was canceled while I was on my way there, so I decided to take a detour and stop in TM since it had been awhile.  I love this boutique a lot since there is a lot of black and gold to go around!  My two favorite colors, if you couldn't tell! lol  My main reason was to find the perfect item for my Christmas party I'm hosting.  Of course I found something (stay tuned for that one!) and while I was browsing I saw this dress.

I love that it is light weight and has the look of a blouse but in a dress form.  Plus the empire waist instantly gives you curves if you're like me and have a straight no curves torso.  And even better it looks amazing with my OTK boots.  Can you tell that I'm obsessed with these shoes?!  I decided to keep my outfit very simple by adding just a few touches of gold accessories.  I also love the barest hint of legs which will be nice once the weather really starts to drop.
